The Furepe Falls in Shiretoko are a beautiful spot to enjoy a refreshing trek and see Shiretoko’s beauty!
This tour is a leisurely 1km walk to the falls, then back. It is an easy, introductory tour that can be enjoyed by all ages, including small children. We also offer this as a private tour, so you can spend this time with just your family or friends and the guide!
Meeting Location
Meeting location is the Shiretoko National Park Nature Center. Pickup available from Michi-no-Eki Utoro-Shirietoku or accommodations in the Utoro area. Please choose your pickup location on the reservation form.

08:40~09:00: Pick up in Utoro area for those using shuttle service
09:00: Meet at Shiretoko Nature Center
09:10: Depart for trekking
10:50: Return to Shiretoko Nature Center. Tour finishes
11:00: Drop off in Utoro area- The above course times are approximate. They may change depending on the weather on the day and the appearance of brown bears, etc., so please make sure you have plenty of time to participate.
- There are morning (9:00) and afternoon (13:30) start times (afternoon start times vary depending on the season).

- The tour will proceed in case of rain.
- If the tour cannot proceed due to heavy rain, lightning, wind, or blizzard, we will cancel the tour and inform you.
- There is no restroom available during the tour. Please keep this in mind before starting.
- Please come to the agreed place on time. If you are late on the day of the tour, we might cancel your reservation so that the other guests can participate.
- Encounters with wildlife are not 100% guaranteed.
- Be responsible for your own health. If you do not feel good, please consider cancelling the tour.
Cancellation / Changes
- A cancellation fee of 100% is charged if cancelled one the day of the event or in case of a no-show
- A cancellation fee of 50% is charged if cancelled 1 day or less before the event
- A cancellation fee of 20% is charged if cancelled 2 days or less before the event
