On this tour join one of the local Sapporo Explorers- living in Sapporo, the Explorer for your tour will be your companion around the city and help you to enjoy the town like a local.
We’re going to visit Hokkaido Shrine, one of the largest shrines in Hokkaido in kimono.
Your Sapporo adventure begins as you meet your dedicated Sapporo Explorer in front of an elegant kimono shop. Your guide, dressed in a beautiful kimono, will be there to greet you.
Step inside the kimono shop and be captivated by the vast selection of stunning kimonos. The friendly staff will assist you in choosing your perfect outfit and expertly help you put it on. Depending on the day’s weather, you’ll be dressed in either a traditional kimono or a comfortable yukata, its lighter summer counterpart. To complete your transformation, you’ll also have the opportunity to have your hair styled in a way that complements your chosen attire.
Once you are perfectly ready, you’ll head out on a walk to Hokkaido Shrine. Your Sapporo Explorer will guide you and share essential etiquette for visiting a Shinto shrine, enhancing your understanding of this sacred place. At the shrine, you’ll have the chance to purchase a lucky charm, try your luck with an omikuji fortune slip, and perhaps even witness local celebratory events if the timing is right. You can also visit an exclusive sweets shop offering limited-edition treats found only at the shrine.
After a serene and culturally enriching time at Hokkaido Shrine, you’ll return to the kimono shop to change back, marking the end of your memorable tour.

Once you choose your favorite kimono from tons of options, the staff will help you to wear them. You will get your hair done as well! - 14:30-16:30- Explore Hokkaido shrine
While walking around the area, your English-speaking guide will tell you some etiquette for visiting a shrine and Japanese shrine culture. - During the tour, you will take a break by eating a famous sweet treat at a shop in the shrine grounds.
- 16:30-16:45- Head back to Wakonya HIRO and get changed, then the your ends.
