A unique custom for shrine visitors is receiving a “goshuin,” an handwritten seal or signature bestowed by a priest. These sacred stamps are collected in a special notebook called a “goshuincho” as cherished souvenirs of one’s spiritual journey or travels.

Goshuin have gained immense popularity for their diverse and beautiful designs, with each shrine offering its own distinctive seal, making the act of collecting them a delightful way to preserve your travel memories.

Nakajima Park, one of Sapporo’s oldest and most beloved parks, has long been a haven for residents. Its picturesque pond, originally a reservoir, offers enjoyable boating experiences. The park’s charm is further enhanced by historic structures like the Houheikan, a former imperial guesthouse, and a traditional Japanese garden complete with an antique teahouse.
