Tour Highlights

  • Beginners are welcome!!

We will take a leisurely 6km trip down the Tokachi River- a large, leisurely flowing river, in a two-seater kayak. You will be the one paddling! The guide will support you in another kayak.

Let’s go on a river trip together!
If you’re lucky you may encounter rare wild birds such as red-crowned cranes and white-tailed eagles,
and observe the Chosenia arbutifolia, which is a rare species of tree in Japan!

We also recommend the beautiful view of the majestic Hidaka Mountains from the river. On the way, you can collect obsidian (Tokachi stone) that can only be found here on the sandbar and take it home as a souvenir! It looks like a rock on the riverbank, but inside it is beautiful black glass.
It will make you feel like you’re searching for gems.

This tour is on until November! Only morning tours are available in November.

  • Tokachi River Canoe Tour

I experienced this with my wife (mid-60s). The guide's careful instruction on how to row and his attentiveness and explanations during the tour made it a fun and meaningful half day. Thank you very much. (This review has been machine translated)
  • You can enjoy Tokachi both on land and water.

I participated in late August this year. This was my second time kayaking, so I'm still a beginner, but I'll teach you the basics, so it's OK even if you're a beginner. Along the way, we went up to the riverbank and had tea. I also made some unexpected memories of collecting secret stones, so it was a very meaningful experience.
