- Let’s dye your T-shirts and handkerchiefs beautifully with the colors of Niseko’s plants!
Head to a former school in Niseko renovated into a guide center! Here we will dye handkerchiefs and other items using natural plants such as mugwort and Japanese knotweed. The guide will teach you about the various plants used as dyes, and show you have to tie your items to make various designs.
This nature and lifestyle experience center has retained as much of the appearance of an 88-year-old wooden school building and is equipped with accommodation and experience facilities, a hearth hut, a campsite, and a snow hut, where you can experience a variety of things.
You can clearly feel the four seasons with various wild vegetables in spring, comfortable weather in summer, autumn leaves in autumn, and heavy snowfall in winter!
Why not stretch your wings to the fullest in such a beautiful setting?

By car:
From Sapporo, take R230 Nakayama Pass. Turn right on Kimobetsu R276, turn left on R5, then it’s about 5 minutes down the road (about 2 hours 30 minutes from Sapporo)
Boken Kazoku is located along National Route 5.
By public transportation:
Take the bus from JR Kutchan Station to Boken Kazoku for about 15 minutes. Get off at “Hirafu Elementary School” or “Hirafu Kita” and it will be right in front of you.
