A memorable canoeing experience tour for a wonderful winter trip. After admiring the winter scenery of Lake Kussharo, head to the source of the Kushiro River.
Mist freezes over the river and sticks to the branches, forming frost-covered trees, and diamond dust sometimes falls in the early morning, adding to the atmosphere of the canoeing experience.
A memorable photo! You can also take commemorative photos! We will take photos from angles that you cannot take by yourself, so you may be able to get a memorable photo!

Rime trees often form in the early morning.

Join a beautiful winter canoe trip down the Kushiro River. Enjoy the spectacular scenery that can only be seen in winter, such as frost-covered trees and diamond dust.
Even, from beginners to the elderly, can join with no trouble. The guide will accompany you, so you don’t need to worry about steering the canoe yourself!
In winter the river temperature is very low, so participants will be required to wear dry suits to ensure safety in case of an emergency. As you will be wearing a dry suit, your body will be warm while you enjoy the river rafting.
The course starts at the river behind the parking lot near Midori Bridge and runs to Biruwa Bridge, covering approximately 4.5 kilometers along the beautiful, clear waters of the Kushiro River’s source. After reaching there, we will transport you back from the finish line to the meeting point.
It is also a wintering ground for wild birds, so you may have a chance to encounter some animals! Especially on cold days, you may be able to enjoy spectacular winter scenery such as frost-covered trees and diamond dust.
Dry suit sizes available for:
- Participants between 120-190cm
- Participants who weigh less than 90kg
- Shoe sizes up to 28cm
