    Tour Highlights

    • Enjoy places and scenery that you can’t get to from spring to autumn
    • Enjoy the beautiful snowy scenery
    • Children can also enjoy the tour on a large sled! (reservation required)

Starting from the Lake Mashu No. 1 Observation Deck, enjoy the winter scenery while leaisurely walking around the outer rim of Lake Mashu on snowshoes. After climbing a small hill, you will arrive at a point where you can see Lake Mashu from an angle that cannot be seen from the observation deck.

Then you will warm up with a hot drink and start walking again!

Even if you’ve never tried snowshoeing before, you’ll be fine! Your guide will give you a detailed lecture on how to put them on and how to walk in them. There are slopes along the way too, so both adults and children can enjoy sledding and playing. Lake Mashu is also a popular spot for sightings and finding footprints of white-tailed eagles, Ezo deer, Ezo snow hares, and Ezo squirrels.

    • Ages 3 and older welcome
    • Children must be accompanied by a guardian

    • Snowshoe experience

I participated alone. It was a truly valuable experience to see the scenery that can only be seen in winter, to see places that can only be reached by snowfall, to go to places that cannot be reached alone in winter, to discover the fun of snowshoeing, etc. I was also impressed by the guide's resourcefulness and service-oriented spirit!
