With special permissions, we have prepared a tour that includes walking through normally restricted areas.
This is a snowshoe trekking tour for those with good legs, where you can enjoy a leisurely half-day of fun on the snowy Lake Toya and the active volcano Mount Usu.
During the trek, we will introduce you to the characteristics of Mount Usu and introduce you to the fascinating world of volcanoes and the lives of the local people who coexist with the volcano.
Come join us for some snowshoe trekking around Konpira in winter, which will satisfy even those who have hiked there in the summer.

- Cold weather gear- warm and easy-to-move-in clothes
- Snowwear tops and bottoms, light down jacket, or similar wear
- Cold weather gloves are a must. Ski or snowboard gloves are also acceptable.
- Waterproof trekking shoes, boots, or snow boots with thick socks.

Notes
- This tour is suitable for active participants with good walking abilities.
- The guide will contact you at 8PM the night before the tour if the tour must be canceled due to weather. In some cases, due to weather it may be canceled at 6AM the day of the tour.
- If the tour cannot proceed due to heavy rain, lightning, wind, or blizzard, we will cancel the tour and inform you.
- The tour dates may be changed or cancelled if there is not enough snow due to unseasonal weather or other reasons.
- The tour may be cancelled midway for safety or other reasons at the discretion of the guide.
- Please follow all of the instructions of the tour guide, as there are risks in outdoor tours. Please also understand that the guide cannot be held personally responsible for any accidents caused by the customer’s intentional or negligent acts.
- As you will be entering a restricted area, participants are required to wear a helmet.
