Tour Highlights
The Ukishima Marsh is an alpine marshland located in between Kamikawa and Takinoue in northern Hokkaido. This is a special place where you can see rare alpine plants, carnivorous plants, and flowers, wild birds, rare insects, and sometimes smaller mammals such as squirrels!
Join a local guide who used to be a science teacher to on a trek through the Ukishima Marsh. Although the marsh is located at the end of a mountain trail, there are stairs and well-made paths. This makes for a light hike rather than a climb! The marsh itself has boardwalks, so you can enjoy the scenery without having an impact on it (or getting muddy!)
This is a perfect trip for stopovers while visiting the northern part of Hokkaido! Come join this trip with many chances to get up close to the wildlife and beauty of eastern Hokkaido. You will also get a tea break with local teas and handmade treats as well!
