Come view the Kinsenkyo Gorge with a local guide! Flowing through the heart of Takinoue, a small town in northern Hokkaido, Kinsenkyo is a beautiful walk along the Shokotsu River. Considered a birder’s paradise, throughout the year you have opportunities to see a large variety of birds up close, in addition to the breathtaking scenery, local plant life, and other animals of Hokkaido.
Since there is an established walking path, this is a tour that everyone can join. The long course will cover a maximum distance of 5.5km and take about 2-3 hours, but as there are several routes available, we can shorten the tour to fit your time and abilities.
Join a local guide who used to be a science teacher to on an outdoor walk. This is a perfect trip for stopovers while visiting the northern part of Hokkaido! Come join this trip with many chances to get up close to the wildlife and beauty of eastern Hokkaido. You will also get a tea break with local teas and handmade treats as well!

- If the tour cannot proceed due to heavy rain, lightning, wind, or blizzard, we will cancel the tour and inform you.
- The tour may be cancelled midway for safety or other reasons at the discretion of the guide.
- Encounters with wildlife are not 100% guaranteed.

- A cancellation fee of 100% is charged if cancelled after the start of the event or in case of a no-show
- A cancellation fee of 50% is charged if cancelled on the day of, before the start of the event
- A cancellation fee of 40% is charged if cancelled 1 day or less before the event
- A cancellation fee of 30% is charged if cancelled 7 days or less before the event
