While Biei is a well-known tourist spot, it’s also a thriving working town with a strong focus on forestry and farming. The delicious produce grown here is enjoyed across Japan and, in some cases, worldwide. The town takes great pride in its fresh, high-quality produce, and some local farmers are truly revolutionizing agricultural practices in the area. Today, you have the unique opportunity to visit one of these innovative farms!

With special permission, you and your guide will be able to explore the farmer’s seasonal produce fields and greenhouses. As you walk through the farm, the farmer will share insights into his farming techniques and discuss life as a farmer in Biei. If you’re lucky, you might even get to taste some of the fresh produce straight from the source! Your guide will be on hand to explain everything you’re seeing and answer any questions you have about farm life in Biei.

To finish off the tour, head to a local farm-to-table restaurant to try vegetables produced at the farm you just visited for an incredible lunch!
