The 2025 Yosakoi Soran Festival begins today!

Starting from today, June 4th, Sapporo’s famous Yosakoi Soran Festival is kicking off! This exciting and energetic festival will last from today through June 8th, with events happening at stages all across the city.

The Yosakoi Soran Festival is an outdoor dance festival, where teams choreograph their own dances, design their own costumes, and perform them in front of audiences. Today the festival attracts over 2 million visitors with around 30,000 dancers performing. The main focus of the event is Odori Park, where teams will perform on stages in the park itself and also on the streets surrounding it. Visitors who want to see the festival themselves can come to Odori and enjoy a full day of watching performances, enjoying foods in markets outdoors, and enjoying the early-summer weather!
