Tour Highlights
This snowshoe tour takes place at the “Winter Naitai Highland Ranch,” the largest public ranch in Japan, which is normally off-limits to the public. Enjoy the spectacular views of Hokkaido as you stroll through the silent snowfields.
Footprints of wild animals such as snow hares and Ezo deer remain on the snow-covered fields. You can feel the breath of the flora and fauna of Daisetsuzan National Park.
[About Naitai Highland Ranch]
Located in Kamishihoro Town, Hokkaido, Naitai Highland Ranch is the largest public ranch in Japan, boasting a total area of 1,700 hectares (the equivalent of 358 Tokyo Domes).
“Nai-tai” means “deep river” in the Ainu language, and it is Tokachi’s most popular scenic spot, attracting approximately 130,000 visitors during its operating season (April to October). However, for reasons of disease prevention and safety, access is prohibited except for the general driving route and the observation cafe “Nai-tai Terrace” at the summit. Furthermore, due to the harsh environment with heavy snowfall and frequent strong winds, access is also prohibited during the winter. Come join this tour for special access!
