It is usually associated with summer, but you can enjoy the Tokachi River in winter as well. The river trip is about 5 kilometers and takes just under an hour.
In early winter encounter white-tailed and Stellar’s sea eagles. They look very dignified and cool as they stand on the trees, and graceful as they fly.
In addition to eagles, you can also see red-crowned cranes, whooper swans, ducks, and more.
Also, in the harsh winter, the frost on the trees is very beautiful on cold days. The luxury of being alone on the freezing cold and very quiet river is something special. Make sure to dress warmly and enjoy!
