An extraordinary experience of flying in the open sky. During the season, you may be able to see drift ice from above!

Take an aerial flight in a hot air balloon over the silvery white world.

The hot air balloon free flight will last about 30 minutes. You can enjoy the great outdoors from the same perspective as the birds. Get up close and experience the mechanism and principles of the hot air balloon while getting a detailed explanation from the crew. From the moment you join the tour, you will be a part of the hot air balloon crew.

Unlike “tethered” flights where you are secured by ropes, you can experience a “hot air balloon free flight” where you fly at the mercy of the wind in the northern skies.

Hot air balloons have no engines or other power sources, and take off only with the buoyancy of the air heated by the burner.

When the burner is not in use, you can experience a silent world, a mysterious, soundless walk through the sky . Why not try experiencing a special experience that you can’t experience in your daily life in winter in Okhotsk?

If you are coming by JR, you can join by catching the train that arrives at JR Kiyosatocho Station at 7:39am.
The tour will finish around 10:00-10:30

From Abashiri, take National Highway 244 via Koshimizu ~25km. Head towards JR Kiyosatocho Station.
From Memanbetsu Airport or Kitami, take National Highway 334 via Bihoro towards Shari ~30km.

If you are unsure of the directions, please call us from JR Kiyosatocho Station.

What to Bring & Wear

Cold weather gear- warm and easy-to-move-in clothes
Snowwear tops and bottoms, light down jacket, or similar wear
Cold weather gloves are a must. Ski or snowboard gloves are also acceptable.
Waterproof trekking shoes, boots, or snow boots with thick socks.
Knit hat
Sunglasses or snow goggles

A free flight in a hot air balloon is only available in winter. Unlike a tethered flight where you are secured by ropes, you can experience a free flight in a hot air balloon, where you fly at the mercy of the wind through the northern skies. After your hot air balloon experience, you will receive a special gift to commemorate your flight!

Pick-Up Service: We provide free pick-up service from JR Kiyosatocho Station. Guests staying at accommodations near Kiyosatocho Station will be picked up at their hotel.

Notes

If the tour cannot proceed due to heavy rain, lightning, wind, or blizzard, we will cancel the tour and inform you.
The tour dates may be changed or cancelled if there is not enough snow due to unseasonal weather or other reasons.
The tour may be cancelled midway for safety or other reasons at the discretion of the guide.
The hot air balloon free flight may be canceled due to weather, wind direction, and wind strength on the day of the tour. If it is canceled we will refund the hot air balloon portion of the tour fee.
Please follow all of the instructions of the tour guide, as there are risks in outdoor tours. Please also understand that the guide cannot be held personally responsible for any accidents caused by the customer’s intentional or negligent acts.
We have insurance, but we ask you to write a participation consent form in case of any unforeseen situations. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Cancellation / Changes

A cancellation fee of 100% is charged if cancelled on the day of the event or in case of a no-show
A cancellation fee of 50% is charged if cancelled 1 day or less before the event
A cancellation fee of 20% is charged if cancelled 7 days or less before the event
A cancellation fee of 10% is charged if cancelled 14 days or less before the event
