Sapporo Lilac Festival
The Lilac Matsuri in Sapporo is underway! Marking the end of spring, the Lilac Festival draws crowds to the areas around Odori Park to visit the beautiful blooming flowers.
The lilac is the tree of Sapporo, and it is planted all around the city. To celebrate the coming of spring and the return of the lovely green days of Sapporo, a lilac festival is held in Odori Park and a park in Shiroishi ward, giving everyone one of their first chances of the year to enjoy some of Hokkaido’s delicious foods outdoors after the long winter!
