He was born and raised in a heavy snow area deep in the mountains of Hokkaido. As a child, it was his daily routine to ski six hours a day. At the age of 21, he became a professional skier, and at the age of 26, he became the first person in Japan to successfully ski down from 3,600 meters on rock skis on Mt. Fuji.
In 1985, his first international stage was the Matterhorn in Switzerland.
Through his adventures he hops to raise awareness for environmental protection and preventing global warming.
